Skater Boy

Josiah came in with only one outfit so we needed to get creative. He did bring his buddy and his skateboard so that was cool.

Here's what we came up with plus a bunch more too. Great kid and fun to work with.
Have a great weekend!

Senior Stuff for Portraits

Jake is a man of many talents. He's a Foothill student and he brought drums, an ATV, some dance stuff and a bunch of friends too! It was awesome!
We love props and friends. Make your session special as well by bringing in things that are a part of your life as a high school senior.

And remember, don't just get pictures done...MAKE EM GREAT PORTRAITS OF YOUR LIFE!!!

Senior Portrait Siblings

Emile & Johnathan came in last night for their senior portraits. It was a fun shoot with these two as they have great personalities and are really good kids to boot!

Wish we had space to put up more from their session but there are just too many good ones. We shoot a lot of variety in our photo sessions so your images don't look like every one else's.

We also do quite a bit of work on the images after capture to give our images a unique look. Why not be different and get great portraits too!

Senior Boy Portraits

We love the variety of looks available doing outdoor portraits. Studio work is cool too though. One thing to look for in a "professional" portrait is lighting dimension. A lot of mediocre images are created using really "flat" lighting. Adding depth to an image is a real art and very few photographers have the knack for getting it just right. We always strive to make our work stand out from the crowd with creative lighting, graphic imagery and retouching skills mastered over time.

Griffin was a great senior to photograph. We went to several locations and did a bit of in studio stuff too.

Remember to choose a photographer that can bring some life to your portraits. Make em fun and make em great!

Mt Shasta Wedding

Alisha & Kurt had such a great day. Mt. Shasta is a beautiful place for a wedding and can make for some striking imagery.
Alisha wanted to do some fun things with her veil and we were happy to oblige! Kurt was a terrific groom to work with, he was up for everything we asked of him.
A very important element in getting really fun and creative images is participation on our couples part. Making time for romantic and lasting imagery is really important. Not tons of time..you'd be surprised at what we can do in ten to fifteen minutes! When you have two fully trained photographers working together to capture your day, you will get images that take your breath away. Julia and I love working together as a team and could not do what we do alone.

Engagement Session

Last evening we had the great pleasure to photograph Carl and Linda. Awesome couple and so in to each other. Very romantic and so much fun! We can't wait to do their wedding!
Carl brought his "bike" and we had a lot of fun playing around with different poses.
Make a statement about who you are and what your interests are by including special props that are appropriate to the session. Always fun when you can make it happen.

FOOTBALL

Alright you senior football players. Time to get down and dirty with your senior portraits. Brandon came in today with all his gear and a snowboard too! Great guy and fun to work with.
On one of the images here we gave it a "300" look. If you want this type of look done for your image just let us know.:)

Bring your stuff for us to use with your images. Let us help you tell your story with some really graphic portraits. Be bold!

Fun Session

Laura is a senior at Foothill HS and was a real pleasure to photograph. We tried a few "high fashion" images with her as well as the fun poses and traditional for the parents.

Remember that these are your senior images and should reflect your personality. We love creative input and will try almost anything if you have a cool idea. Even if your idea is not so cool we'll try it anyway. So make em great!

Grunge It Up

Seniors-to give you an even more individualized look we have lots of artistic borders and "grunge" to overlay onto your images. Just let us know what you like...flowers, old films, stylized borders or whatever and we'll create a special one-of-a-kind look for your images.

These make great wallets and you can have your choice of fonts for your name or even your own signature! We love to give our seniors more than just plain old portraits, get some grunge on now!

Senior Appointments

So school is starting, you have football practice and maybe an end of the summer vacation planned. Well don't forget to schedule your Senior Portraits! Yearbook deadlines will be here before you know it.

Don't wait until the last minute or you might not get to do the session you would like to do. We have a very limited time for outdoor appointments so make sure you get your appointment "on the calendar" soon.

We have many great locations to use, however some only look their best at certain times of the day. We schedule into the late afternoon and evening for your convenience and on weekends too.

So take a deep breath, relax and call our studio now and make that appointment before someone else gets your time slot. You'll be glad you did.

Kids Photography

This little guy is FOUR! Bet you had a hard time guessing that huh. He was so awesome. Learning how to "wink" too.

Grandma and grandpa brought him in and we had a fun time getting these great expressions.

Kids are all different when it comes to photos. Some are shy, some outgoing and some just don't want to sit still. Try to pick the best time of day for them and half the battle is done. Also we recommend bringing in a helper who is familiar with your child.

Sisters & Brothers

Michael and Stephanie came in for portraits so that mom has some fun images of the two of them before Michael heads off to UCLA. They were a lot of fun and were really easy to photograph. I did not have to use the "rubber chicken" to get such great smiles!

Make time to schedule family portraits now so that you will always remember the special moments in your life.

Couple Portrait

Have you ever wanted to do something special with that favorite someone? How about a really cool portrait! We did a great session with Shannon and North and this is an image they chose.

It has a graphic look that really sets it apart from traditional portaits. We love to do this type of work and if you are looking for something different then consider it for your special someone.
We have many locations we like and are always on the look-out for new ones! Remember, your images should be stunning, just like you!

Kids and Cars

Having your car or truck in your senior portraits is a great way of adding some creative design elements to your images. We always encourage our seniors to bring in their wheels or borrow some from mom, dad, or even grandparents.

Remeber these are YOUR senior portraits and the images should be about you. If you are a gearhead or just think your car is special bring it on in! We love em!

Yearbook Photo woes

We have been getting some calls from students saying that they are "forced" to go to only one studio for their yearbook photos. This is new for some schools this year.
In the past, we and other very qualified professional studios were able to submit yearbook images to these schools.
While there's not much we can do, however, there is a California State Education Code number 48900-48927 that states: "48907. Students of the public schools shall have the right to exercise freedom of speech and of the press including, but not limited to, the use of bulletin boards, the distribution of printed materials or petitions, the wearing of buttons, badges, and other insignia, and the right of expression in official publications, whether or not such publications or other means of expression are supported financially by the school or by use of school facilities, except that expression shall be prohibited which is obscene, libelous, or slanderous. Also prohibited shall be material which so incites students as to create a clear and present danger of the commission of unlawful acts on school premises or the violation of lawful school regulations, or the substantial disruption of the orderly operation of the school. Each governing board of a school district and each county board of education shall adopt rules and regulations in the form of a writtenpublications code, which shall include reasonable provisions for thetime, place, and manner of conducting such activities within its respective jurisdiction.Student editors of official school publications shall be responsible for assigning and editing the news, editorial, andfeature content of their publications subject to the limitations ofthis section. However, it shall be the responsibility of a journalism adviser or advisers of student publications within each school to supervise the production of the student staff, to maintain professional standards of English and journalism, and to maintain theprovisions of this section. There shall be no prior restraint of material prepared for official school publications except inso far as it violates this section. School officials shall have the burden of showing justification without undue delay prior to any limitation of student expression under this section."Official school publications" refers to material produced by students in the journalism, newspaper, yearbook, or writing classes and distributed to the student body either free or for a fee. Nothing in this section shall prohibit or prevent any governing board of a school district from adopting otherwise valid rules and regulations relating to oral communication by students upon the premises of each school. "

So basically you could argue this as a free speech issue to select your own yearbook photographer, but beware, this might just cause you more grief in the end.

Now with that being said it might well be easier to go and get the "FREE" yearbook shot and then go get your real Senior Portraits done with your choice of Professional Photographer.

Look at the styles, package options and personalities of some different photographers and choose the one that best fits your needs. Check out their work on their websites or pay a visit to their studio to look at more of their work and pick up some info too.

Of course we hope you will give us a shot because we like to think we offer the best deals and have the greatest most creative portraits, but we like to remain humble.

Family Portrait

This is a great time of year for family portraits. Evenings or late afternoon appointments are available and also best for lighting and "coolness" factor!

Time slips by so fast so don't let another year go by without a family portrait to remember.

These portraits are also great for Christmas Cards and we offer TONS of styles for these.

Don't delay! Before you know it summer will give way to fall and winter and you'll wish you had made the choice to create something special to enjoy forever.

July Storm

A couple of weeks ago we had one of our summer gully-washers and I thought some shots out at Whiskeytown might be cool. All I got out there was rained on so on the way back in to town was an opportunity for some awesome images and here is the best I thought. And yes that is real lighteninig not a Photoshopped version.

Cheers!

Destination weddings

Brides and grooms have you ever dreamed of a Maui Beach sunset wedding or maybe a neat place in Tahoe? We love to travel for those destination settings. Last year we went to Maui, Ashland, OR and South Lake Tahoe for some of the best weddings.

What makes a detination wedding different from local events is usually your guest list smaller and more intimate so you actually get to spend time with everyone. Also of course your wedding images are even more special! We will have more time to do a variety of fun and artistic images at your special location. If you want us to we can hang out for some extra days and shoot in some of the places that make your location special; walking on the beach, maybe a hike through a beautiful setting of trees or how about a romantic catamaran cruise at sunset with dolphins jumping by your boat and whales breaching in the distance or... sorry, I lost myself in the moment there.

Anyway destination weddings are more popular then ever so think about your day in some far-off location and if you need some really great photographers to capture your event, we can think of a couple that would be just perfect!

Seniors 08

Hey all you 2008 grads! We want YOU to see why New Image Studio is the fun place to go for great senior portraits. We know that you Enterprise and Anderson students are locked into only one choice for your yearbook images (Enterprise students do get a second image choice for yearbook), but don't get bummed about it, set yourself apart with some truly awesome images from our studio.

We love creative input so if you have an idea or see some great looking shot in a magazine or even something on the "tube" that caught your eye let us know and we'll make it happen. Your portraits should reflect you and what makes you unique. Don't settle for average run-of-the-mill portriats, do something fun, creative, intense or just plain crazy. This is your senior year so don't blow it by getting portraits that would put a hyper-active 5 year old to sleep, get something to be proud of and that you want to show off!
